China’s New Individual Income Tax Law and Offshore Financial Planning

China’s New Individual Income Tax Law and Offshore Financial Planning is organised by LehmanBrown International Accountants and BlueStar AMG, with the support of the British Chamber of Commerce in China and AustCham China, taking place on December 5th at The Capital Club from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.

The seminar will start by examining the details and effects of China’s new Individual Income Tax (IIT) law which has a far-reaching impact on the comprehensive incomes of both expats and locals alike. Followed by looking into the future planned implementation of the Corporate Social Credit System which includes tax filings within its scope — and taking a closer look at China’s expected sharing of information on the Common Reporting System (“CRS”), which China signed up together with over a hundred other countries, allowing financial institutions and tax departments to share information.

Due to this ever-changing expatriate environment, there has never been a greater need for effective financial planning, but what is financial planning, and more importantly, what is not? The many challenges that working expatriates and their families face have created the need for finance professionals, but what is the true utility of such professionals and are there limitations?
