Did you know that property prices follow a very predictable pattern of rises and falls every 18 years? Understanding that each cycle is higher than the last one will give the confidence needed to invest in property. This talk will introduce the property cycle, where the UK market is in the current 18 year cycle and the telltale signs to look out for. The media always take a very short-term view on property, highlighting the growth of overheated markets and gloom and doom when there is any suggested slow down. Making property decisions based on such short term sensationalism is how investments can go wrong. This seminar provides an alternative way, based upon knowledge and analysis of years of market trends, and a clear property investment strategy.

Rory Van Den Berg
Rory is the founder and executive director of the property IC.Rory studied finance through the chartered insurance institute. For 5 years, he has been the Northern China regional director at a leading propertyconsultancy firm. A self-confessed property nerd Rory likes reading, listening to podcasts, studying economics and investing in property. He also has a passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, and has used that experience to co-create several fitness training programs.
The property investment company is a new consulting company based in Beijing that advises clients on the property market and sources UK residential property for investment. As well as sourcing property, the company helps clients manage the entire process from financing to lettings and management, and helps with property investment strategy.
Russell Brown OBE
Russell is Founder and Managing Partner of LehmanBrown International Accountants, a China-focused accounting, taxation and business advisory firm with operations in Beijing, Hong Kong and five other offices across China employing around 200 professionals.
Russell has over 28 years working experience including 20 years living in China and involved establishing and developing businesses in China. Prior to founding LehmanBrown, Russell was the Global CFO of one of the world’s largest public relations and communications consulting companies promoted from their Asia Pacific Regional CFO.
He currently acts as advisor to international companies entering the China market and to Chinese companies venturing abroad, and he is a founding director and Chair of the Asia Transformation and Turnaround Association. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on taxation, accounting and doing business in and with China.
