On November 13, the first ” International Forum of China and Latin American Countries on Taxation” was held in Guangzhou under the auspices of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics and Research Centre for Guangdong Local Public Finance.

This international forum adopted the theme of The International Taxation Collaboration under the “Belt and Road” Initiative”. National government department leaders, experts and scholars and business representatives, who came from China (including Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) and Latin America, discussed the new international tax issues under the “belt and road” initiative, including tax education internationalization, China and Latin American countries tax system comparison, cross-border tax disputes, anti-tax avoidance and international tax collaboration”.

The forum lasted for two days, including three thematic reports and two round table dialogues. Mr. Russell Brown OBE, Managing Partner of LehmanBrown and Treasurer of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in China, participated the round table dialogue to discuss the exchanges on taxation issues for enterprises. Based on his practical experiences, Russell enunciated his points of views and communicated with the other guest speakers to elaborate on the given topic and provided his in-depth knowledge in this area.
