The second event in our Business Insights Series is here! The Business Insights events are co-organised by the China-Britain Business Council and the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong to provide a platform for UK and Chinese companies to exchange ideas on hot business topics.

This upcoming Business Insights event will focus on providing representatives from SMEs with the knowledge to tackle a range of different issues being faced by companies in China. In a hands-on and interactive learning environment, the event will provide a one-stop shop for entrepreneurs and business owners needing advice on everything ranging from recruiting and retaining top talent to growing business through the use of social media through to top tips on cost control methods.

About Speakers

Jeremy Sargent OBE,
Chairman, British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong
Founding Partner, JS Associates Guangzhou

Jeremy Sargent OBE is the founding partner of JSA, a legal consultancy firm based in Guangzhou which provides legal advice to foreign companies in China. Jeremy is a qualified lawyer who has lived and worked in China for over 15 years. Jeremy advises clients on many legal aspects of establishing and operating business in China – including in relation to employment and HR matters. Jeremy is also Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong and sits on a number of business-related committees. Jeremy is also the founder of the Happy Monk bar/restaurant chain here in Guangzhou. In 2013 Jeremy was awarded an OBE from Queen Elizabeth for his services to British Business and Legal Services in China.

Ray Cheung

Ray Cheung is a Partner in the Hong Kong Office of LehmanBrown International Accountants, a China focused accounting, taxation and business advisory firm, combining years of international expertise with practical China experience and knowledge. Prior to joining LehmanBrown, Ray has accumulated over 10 years’ experience working in the field of audit and consultancy based in Hong Kong and working extensively with Mainland China. His primary focus has been in Hong Kong Statutory Audit for both private, MNC and Hong Kong listed companies, providing tax compliance and advisory services. He has also managed a wide ranging portfolio of IPO projects (largely Mainland China entities applying for listing in HK), due diligence engagements, internal control system reviews and a variety of other advisory services.

As a key member of the social team of Ogilvy Guangzhou, Hades gained her professional knowledge on social media communication and brand management through a number of cooperation with local and international brands such as Herborist, Neutrogena, BMW, UnionPay, Little Star Group. Hades has a deep understanding and abundant practical experience in terms of social strategic planning, content creation, and digital influence planning. Regarding brand management, Hades has been joining the 360 integrated communications project, providing customized integrated communication consulting services, including core strategy of brand communication, planning of digital influence campaigns, quality control and evaluation service for integrated marketing campaigns.
