Overview

The second event in our Business Insights Series is here! The Business Insights events are co-organised by the China-Britain Business Council and the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong to provide a platform for UK and Chinese companies to exchange ideas on hot business topics.

This upcoming Business Insights event will focus on providing representatives from SMEs with the knowledge to tackle a range of different issues being faced by companies in China. In a hands-on and interactive learning environment, the event will provide a one-stop shop for entrepreneurs and business owners needing advice on everything ranging from recruiting and retaining top talent to growing business through the use of social media through to top tips on cost control methods.

About Speakers

Barry Wilson
Director, Barry Wilson Project Initiatives Ltd. (BWPI)
Chairman of the Shenzhen Branch, British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong

Barry Wilson is an internationally qualified design and construction consultant. Born in London, he has also lived and worked in New York City, Harare and Hong Kong where he established his own company in 1996 before expanding with offices in Shanghai and Shenzhen. He has an extensive knowledge of international standards and management practices having designed, coordinated and completed a wide variety of development projects worldwide. In 2012 he received award from the China International Urbanization Development Strategy Research Committee for his outstanding achievements.
Barry regularly undertakes roles as Guest Professor at the University of Hong Kong, Peking University, Lund University and Penn State University. He sits on various committees and public interest groups including the Public Affairs Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design. He holds a private pilots license and is currently Chairman of the Shenzhen Branch of the British Chamber of Commerce.

Ray Cheung is a Partner in the Hong Kong Office of LehmanBrown International Accountants, a China focused accounting, taxation and business advisory firm, combining years of international expertise with practical China experience and knowledge. Prior to joining LehmanBrown, Ray has accumulated over 10 years’ experience working in the field of audit and consultancy based in Hong Kong and working extensively with Mainland China. His primary focus has been in Hong Kong Statutory Audit for both private, MNC and Hong Kong listed companies, providing tax compliance and advisory services. He has also managed a wide ranging portfolio of IPO projects (largely Mainland China entities applying for listing in HK), due diligence engagements, internal control system reviews and a variety of other advisory services.
