Since 2003, AmCham-China Charity Balls have donated over $800,000 towards improving the lives of thousands of families in China. In light of the recent earthquake in Sichuan, net proceeds from the 2008 event will benefit China-based charitable organizations dedicated to earthquake relief and to the health needs of China’s rural population.

Every year the Charity Ball have at least 100 sponsors, ranging from multinationals to Mom-and-Pop enterprises, offering a huge selection of silent and live auction items. These items ranged from cutting-edge electronics to executive suite accommodations in around the world, to gourmet dinners, and golf lessons.

About 800 of AmCham-China members, China top executives, community leaders and friends attend the AmCham-China Charity Ball each year to have fun, to network, and most importantly, to raise funds for local charities. This year, with the theme “30 Years that Moved America”, guests will be celebrating the best moments from the fabulous fifties, sixties and seventies at the sixth annual AmCham-China Charity Ball on September 20, 2008 at the China World Hotel.
