St George’s Day Charity Dinner 2015

On 25th April 2015, Lehman Brown managed a lively charity event at the Four Seasons Hotel to celebrate the patron saint of England, St. George, raising money for community charities Care For Children and Little Flower.

The black tie dinner comprised a six course meal, a charity raffle and some fantastic entertainment. The highlights of the evening were a performance from the British School of Beijing Girls’ Choir, comedy from top international comedians Tim Clark and Geoff Boyes, and a successful charity auction. There were 160 guests from the supporting partners and sponsors.

First of all, guests were welcomed by a friendly reception. Classic British drinks brought images of a lazy summer afternoon, sipping ice cold Pimm’s or Buck’s Fizz and reclining on the grass in Hyde Park.

Next, there was an introduction to the two charities that Lehman Brown were supporting. Little Flower supports communities in need: the charity accepts children with medical problems from Chinese orphanages that lack the resources, providing them with the necessary care they need to grow up happy and healthy young people. Care For Children charity arranges foster homes for children from a range of communities in China and Thailand.

Next, the guests were treated to a six course meal prepared by the staff at the Four Seasons Hotel, featuring some traditional British dishes: beetroot salad, steak, Yorkshire puddings and even apple pie! The courses were interspersed with speeches from sponsors, talks from Lehman Brown partners, and presentations from community charities Care For Children and Little Flower.  Most pleasant was the fantastic British School of Beijing Girls’ Choir, who brought some extra flavour to the meal with their selection of classic British and American songs.

After the meal there was a raffle and an exciting charity auction. Raffle prizes ranged from collectible models to a full spa treatment. The charity auction was presented by the double act of Lehman Brown’s marketing director and international comedian Tim Clark. Money from Lehman Brown’s charity auction and the raffle tickets raised RMB54,000 towards the community for Care For Children and Little Flower.

The evening was rounded off by comedy from Tim and Geoff. If St George had been there himself that night, both he and the dragon would be smiling!
