Their presentations covered an overview of the 13th Five Year Plan outcomes and the opportunities resulting from the economic shift.

In the first session, Kiran introduced the ‘five tenet’ framework that indicates the key areas of future development and transformation to be carried out through China’s policy of economic reform. The new Free Trade Zones (“FTZs”) high-tech and green sectors and the much championed One Belt One Road (“OBOR”) initiative were addressed attracting significant attention from the audience.

In particular, Russell spoke about the key areas of business risk for Foreign Invested Enterprises (“FIEs”) and he gave practical advice to the audience on how to structure their operations in China from a tax and general compliance perspective.  In-depth risk analysis on the market, human capital, economic climate, management practices, business development and legal aspects in China were also introduced. Understanding the Different types of legal entity available to foreign enterprises in China was an area of particular interest to the Israeli delegation.
